LAKE
EYASI BUSHMEN CULTURAL TOUR.
Lake Eyasi bordering the south western fringe of
the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the salty,
sometimes dry Lake is rammed by the seep wall of
the ancient Eyasi Rift. The area around Lake
Eyasi is inhabited by the Hadzabe tribe (also
called the Datoga). This ancient tribe which is
believed to have arrived in the area more than
300 years ago were subsequently forced out of
the Serengeti and Ngorongoro by the Maasai.
There language (nilo-hamitic) is vaguely similar
to that of the San bushmen of South Africa. Also
in this area are the Iraqw (called Wambulu) a
tribe of cushitic origin.
3 Nights/4
Days - Bushman Cultural Tour.

International Airport, meet and transfer to
Arusha for overnight at Hotel Impala or similar.
Day - 2 - After breakfast drive to
Mang'ola at Lake Eyasi which lays to the south
of the Ngorongoro Crater, passing through the

highlands. In the evening your guide will tell
you about the history and culture of Hadzabe and
Datoga.
