17 Days – Kilimanjaro Trekking, Wildlife Safari and Zanzibar

This tour is a combination of 7 Days - Mountain climbing, 6 Days - Wildlife Safari and 4 Days – Zanzibar Beach Holiday. The tour gives you a chance to make the top of Mount Kilimanjaro through machame route, which is referred to as the “Whiskey Route”, which suited to more adventurous hikers, and it is also rewards you with better views than the Marangu Route, and there after you will experience the Tanzania Wildlife Safari on 6 days, 5 nights safari.

ITINERARAY

Day 1: Arusha - Machame Village - Machame
We will drive from Arusha/Moshi to Machame Village and then walk to Machame Camp. 
2 hours’ drive, 5-7 hours hike (10km). 1200 meters ascent to an altitude of 3000 meters. 
Dinner/Overnight at Machame camp.

Day 2: Machame - Shira
Today we have a 6km hike, during 5 to 7 hours. We will have a 840 meters ascent and reach the 3840 meters of altitude.
Dinner/Overnight at Shira camp.

Day 3: Shira - Barranco
Today we have a long hike of 10km (5 to 7 hours) but with a small ascent of just 110 meters. By night, we'll be sleeping at 3950 meters. 
Dinner/Overnight at Barranco camp.

Day 4: Barranco Hut - Karanga Valley
4.5km hike during just 3 hours. We will finally be sleeping above 4000 meters, at 4200 meters above see level (250 meters ascent).

Day 5: Karanga - Barafu
Again, 4.5km hike during just 3 hours. Today we'll reach an altitude of 4700 meters (500 meters ascent) for the highest night of your journey.

Day 6: Barafu - Uhuru Peak - Mweka
This will be the toughest but also the most rewarding day. We will wake up very very early, during the night, in order to arrive to the peak at sunrise. This will just be a 5 kilometers hike but due to the altitude and steepness (1186 meters ascent) it will take 6 to 7 hours to do. When you reach the summit, you will be at 5986 meters and have the best views of your entire life. You will never in your life forget this moment and it will make you a better person. 

After some time at the summit, we'll start our descent to Mweka. Again, we'll walk for 5 to 7 hours, for a total of 12 kilometers, in order to sleep at a much more comfortable altitude of 3096 meters.

Day 7: Mweka - Mweka Village - Arusha
In our last day, we'll have a 3/4 hours hike of 10 kilometers (to an altitude of 1600 meters) before transfer to Arusha for your Overnight at.

Day 8: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
0830 Hrs. After your breakfast; depart from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for game drive.
1300 Hrs.  Stop at the Picnic Site for Picnic Lunch, 
1400 Hrs. Continue for evening game drive to return in the evening for dinner and overnight at.

Day 9: Lake Manyara National Park
0830 Hrs. After your breakfast; depart from your Camp to Lake Manyara National Park for game drive.
1300 Hrs.  Stop at the Picnic Site for Picnic Lunch, 
1400 Hrs. Continue for evening game d rive to return in the evening for dinner and overnight at.

Day 10: Serengeti National Park
0800hrs transfer from Manyara to Serengeti National Park for game drive.
1300 Hrs. Break for lunch which will be served at the picnic area.
1400 Hrs. Afternoon game drive in the Park to return in the evening for dinner and overnight at.

Day 11: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast leave with your packed lunch for game drive on the Serengeti Park acacia Savannah in the central to the east region. Around 12.30pm and 13.00pm break for your picnic lunch; thereafter proceed with tour afternoon game drive. Evening dinner and Overnight at.

Day 12: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Rim 
Wake up at 0600hrs for early morning game drives in Serengeti at 0845hrs back to the lodge. Then check out and drive with lunch and game viewing en-route to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. It is your option whether you will pass via Olduvai Gorge the archaeological site. Dinner and overnight at.

Day 13 Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha: 
0730 Hrs.  After breakfast, drive and descend into the crater floor with your lunch box for game viewing. The famous Ngorongoro Crater is rich of wildlife, each species have their own territories.
1300 Hrs.  Stop at the Picnic Site for Picnic Lunch, which will be served on the crater floor at the picnic site near Lerai forest or hippo pool.
1400 Hrs.  Ascend the Crater and drive back to Arusha town for your overnight at.

Day 14: Arusha to Zanzibar
By Flight (Precision Air or Similar) depart Arusha at approx. 0900hrs and arrive in Zanzibar at 1015hrs, meet & greet at the airport and transfer to your hotel in town for overnight at.

Day 15: Zanzibar
Enjoy an early breakfast before taking a privately guided tour of Stonetown that includes the traditional spice markets, the old fort and the slave museum. After lunch make the 45min drive to the northern coast of the Island.

Day 16: Zanzibar
Start with a half day boat ride with lunch and snorkeling to the small island of Mnemba, famous for its white sands, clear waters and colorful tropical fish. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the beach or at the pool.

Day 17: Zanzibar – Home
Transferred to the airport for flight back to your country
