Day 1 — Arusha to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu Area) via Ngorongoro
You leave Arusha early, driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with panoramic crater views along the way, before continuing on to the Ndutu plains—the heart of the wildebeest calving region. You're straight into a game drive on arrival, among herds of wildebeest and zebra with lions, cheetahs, and hyenas all working the area. Dinner and the night are at Ndutu Wilderness Camp.
Day 2 — Full-Day Safari in Ndutu: Wildebeest Calving Season
A full day in the Ndutu Area, where hundreds of thousands of wildebeest gather during the calving months. You'll see newborn calves taking their first steps, predators hunting in the open, and near-constant movement across the plains—this is Ndutu at its most intense. A picnic lunch in the bush breaks up the day before an afternoon of more game viewing, then back to Ndutu Wilderness Camp for dinner.
Day 3 — Ngorongoro Crater, then Return to Arusha
After breakfast, you leave Ndutu for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most wildlife-dense ecosystems. You descend onto the crater floor for a half-day game drive, with excellent chances to spot black rhino alongside lions, elephants, buffalo, hippoes, and large herds of plains game. Later in the afternoon, you drive back to Arusha, closing out the trip.
