Victoria Falls is one of the great waterfalls of the world. It sits on the Zambezi River, which forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, and it can be viewed easily from the Zimbabwean side. The falls are 108 metres high and 1,708 metres wide, and they have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989. The small town beside the falls makes an easy base for the area. You can explore the falls on foot, cruise the river at sunset and take an early game drive in Zambezi National Park, which covers about 560 square kilometres and is home to elephants, lions, buffaloes and leopards.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival at Victoria Falls and Zambezi Dinner Cruise
You are met at Victoria Falls Airport and transferred to your lodge, about 23 kilometres away, which takes around 30 minutes. At 4:20 pm you set out on the Zambezi River for a relaxing dinner cruise. You may see hippos, elephants and crocodiles, along with plenty of birdlife. You overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 — Guided Tour of the Falls, Lunch and Elephant Encounter
At 9:00 am, after breakfast, you explore Victoria Falls up close and on foot. You feel the thunder and the mist, and you walk the path close to the falls. At noon you have lunch at the Victoria Falls Hotel. At 3:20 pm you have an elephant encounter. You overnight at the lodge.
Day 3 — Early Game Drive in Zambezi National Park
At 6:30 am you set out on an early morning game drive in Zambezi National Park. You may see elephants, lions, buffaloes and leopards, and the park is home to more than 400 bird species, though sightings can’t be guaranteed. You overnight at the lodge.
Day 4 — Departure from Victoria Falls
After breakfast at your lodge, you either rest until your flight or check out, depending on your flight time. You are then transferred to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight home. The flight is not included.

Best Time to Go
This tour can be taken all year round. In general, the water flow over Victoria Falls is highest from about March to May, when the mist and spray are most dramatic. The flow is lower from about September to December, and the falls can look quieter then. Game viewing in Zambezi National Park is usually easier in the drier months, when animals gather around water. Our team can advise on the best dates for your trip.

Where does the tour start and end, and how long does it last?
The tour starts and ends at Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe. It lasts four days and three nights, with all three nights at your lodge in Victoria Falls.
Can we add adventure activities?
Yes. Activities such as scenic flights, microlighting, white water rafting, bungee jumping and kayaking are available in the area as optional extras. They are not in the itinerary or the rate, so please ask our team for prices and availability.
Is a trip to Chobe National Park possible?
Yes, a Chobe National Park expedition can be arranged as an extension, but it is not part of this itinerary. Please ask our team for a separate quote.
Is the elephant encounter included, and is it ethical?
The elephant encounter on Day 2 is in the itinerary. Please ask our team about its type, any extra cost and the operator’s welfare standards before you book, and check that it does not include riding or direct contact.
Do we need a visa for Zimbabwe?
Most visitors need a visa for Zimbabwe, and the fee is not included in the rate. Please check the requirements for your nationality before you travel.
