Moremi Game Reserve covers just under 5,000 square kilometres on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta, and most of it lies within the delta itself. The reserve was proclaimed in 1963 and is home to about 500 bird species, from water birds to forest dwellers. Its large mammals include lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, giraffes and African wild dogs, while black rhinos and cheetahs are also recorded. You reach Camp Moremi by private light aircraft from Maun, then spend your days exploring the reserve in an open safari vehicle, or by motor boat or mokoro on the Xakanaxa Lagoon and the delta channels. The camp’s firepit dinners under the stars complete each day, weather permitting.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Maun Airport to Camp Moremi
You are collected from Maun Airport and flown in a private light aircraft to Camp Moremi in the Moremi Game Reserve. You settle into your chalet and rest before high tea on the deck, followed by a three-hour afternoon activity. You then enjoy a three-course dinner at the outdoor firepit, with sundowner drinks and complimentary local wines, beers and soft drinks.
Day 2 — Moremi Game Reserve
Each day begins with an early wake-up call, because the best game viewing comes as the sun rises and the animals become more active. You have a light continental breakfast in the dining area, then set off on a three-hour morning safari. You return to Camp Moremi for brunch, and you can relax in your chalet or on the main deck by the pool. High tea is served on the deck before the three-hour afternoon activity. This may be a game drive in an open safari vehicle, a guided bush walk, or a motor boat or mokoro (dug-out canoe) trip. You return to camp for a three-course dinner under the stars at the firepit, weather permitting, with local wines, beers and soft drinks.

Best Time to Go
This safari can be taken all year round. In general, the dry months from June to October are usually the best for game viewing in Moremi, because animals gather around the remaining water. Water levels in the delta are generally highest from about May to August, which suits boat and mokoro trips. The rainy months from November to March bring green landscapes and birdlife, though afternoon storms are common. Our team can advise on the best dates for your trip.
