Itinerary
Day 1 — Arusha to Zanzibar and Stone Town
You take a domestic flight from Arusha at about 09:00, landing in Zanzibar at about 10:15. You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town, with the rest of the day free to wander the narrow streets, watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean or visit the Forodhani Gardens night food market. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 2 — Stone Town Tour and Transfer to the Northern Coast
After an early breakfast you set off on a private guided tour of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting the traditional spice market, the Old Fort and the former slave market and museum. After lunch you drive about an hour to the northern coast of the island and check into your beach hotel.
Day 3 — Mnemba Island Boat Trip
You start the day with a half-day boat trip to the reef around Mnemba Island, with its white sands, clear waters and colourful tropical fish. You snorkel over the coral, often with dolphins in the area, and enjoy lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax on the beach or by the pool.
Day 4 — Departure from Zanzibar
After breakfast you have time to relax until your transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your flight home.

Best Time to Go
This tour can be taken all year round. In general, Zanzibar’s drier months from about June to October and from December to February are the most popular for beach time and boat trips. The long rains from about March to May and the short rains around November bring more rain, which can affect sea and snorkelling conditions. Snorkelling visibility also depends on the tide and the weather on the day. Our team can advise on the best dates for your tour.

Can we add a safari before Zanzibar?
Yes. This tour is designed to follow a safari in northern Tanzania, such as the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater or Tarangire, which finishes in Arusha. Please ask our team to combine them.
