Itinerary
Day 1 — Arusha to Tarangire National Park, then Mto wa Mbu
Morning pick-up from Arusha, then a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park—famous for its giant baobabs, prolific birdlife, and some of Africa's largest elephant herds. A full day of game driving turns up lions, giraffes, zebras, and antelope alongside the elephants. Later, you continue to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and the night at Figi Tree Lodge.
Day 2 — Karatu to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you travel via Karatu into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with sweeping views over the highlands before the road descends toward the Serengeti. You enter the park in the afternoon, with your first Serengeti game drive built into the drive to Elwai Camp, where you'll spend the night immersed in the wilderness.
Day 3 — Full-Day Safari in Serengeti National Park
A full day exploring the vast Serengeti plains, home to lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and hyenas, with a seasonal chance at the Great Wildebeest Migration. Morning and afternoon game drives cover as much ground as possible, and you're back at camp for a relaxed evening by the campfire.
Day 4 — Ngorongoro Crater, then Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you head for Ngorongoro Crater, often called the Eighth Wonder of the World. You descend onto the crater floor for a half-day game drive, with excellent chances to spot black rhino alongside lion, hippo, elephant and the crater's resident plains game. In the afternoon, you drive back to Arusha, closing out the trip.

Best Time to Go
This circuit works well year-round, but June through October is the classic window — Tarangire's elephants concentrate around the shrinking river, the Serengeti's grass is low enough for easy sightings, and the crater floor at Ngorongoro is at its clearest. If the Great Wildebeest Migration matters to your timing, the herds are typically in the western and northern Serengeti from June to October, and further south from December through March.
