Six-Day Big Five Safari – Northern Circuit Adventure From Zanzibar

Join us on an unforgettable quest to see Africa’s Big Five! This six-day journey through five stunning national parks gives you the best chance of spotting lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and cape buffalo. Each day offers unique experiences, incredible landscapes, and countless photo opportunities across Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.

Day 1: Zanzibar – Arusha – Arusha National Park

• Flight: Zanzibar to Arusha (08:00 – 09:15 AM)

Begin your adventure with a visit to Arusha National Park, where you can choose from three immersive experiences:

• Game Drive: Explore the park’s rich landscapes, from the Momella Lakes to Ngurdoto Crater.
• Canoe Safari: Paddle across Momella Lakes to spot hippos, giraffes, and buffalo.
• Walking Safari: Trek through the forests and grasslands, home to zebras, colobus monkeys, and over 400 bird species.

After a day of exploration, return to Arusha for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Following breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara, with a stop at the bustling market town of Mto Wa Mbu. Lake Manyara National Park, famed for its tree-climbing lions and abundant birdlife, offers incredible wildlife viewing and photography opportunities. Spend the evening at a lodge within the park, resting up for another day of adventure.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

• Drive: Scenic drive to Serengeti National Park, passing through the rainforests of Ngorongoro.

You may choose to break up the drive with visits to:

• Oldupai Gorge: Learn about human evolution at this renowned archaeological site.
• Maasai Boma: Experience Maasai culture through dance, village tours, and souvenir shopping.

Arrive in Serengeti National Park for lunch and an afternoon game drive, where you’ll witness the vast savannah teeming with animals. Overnight in the heart of Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Start the day with an early morning game drive as you travel towards Ngorongoro. Along the way, look out for migrating herds, elegant giraffes, and elusive predators like leopards and cheetahs. Spend the evening on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its dense wildlife population. This is your best chance to see the endangered black rhino as well as lions, leopards, hippos, and more. Enjoy a picnic by the hippo pool before heading back to Karatu for the night.

Day 6: Tarangire National Park – Arusha – Zanzibar

On your final day, explore Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and majestic baobabs. Watch for unique species such as the Greater Kudu and Ashy Starling as you enjoy a final game drive. After a picnic lunch, return to Arusha for your flight back to Zanzibar.
